On the Cover of the....
Gonna see my picture on the cover
Gonna buy five copies for my mother
Wanna see my smilin' face on the cover of the Rolling Stone
As the good Dr. Hook lamented years ago, his life would be complete if he could just get his picture on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine.
It was the pinnacle of popularity when the song was written, but for many of us that fleeting 15 minutes of fame had to wait. Like millions of Boomers who adjusted their sights on other, more worldly endeavors in the last 40 years, the editors here stopped dreaming of being rock stars and burrowed into family, kids and jobs.
Now, as "aging hipsters" we finally got our picture on the cover... of a local newspaper's senior section. There, nestled around advertising for everything from home care services to funeral homes, is an article about our founding editors.
It's not exactly Rolling Stone Magazine, but it is an accurate (if not obscure) portrayal of two 50-somethings who happen to run a blog and a web development business.
