Gonna see my picture on the cover

Gonna buy five copies for my mother

Wanna see my smilin' face on the cover of the Rolling Stone

As the good Dr. Hook lamented years ago, his life would be complete if he could just get his picture on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine.

It was the pinnacle of popularity when the song was written, but for many of us that fleeting 15 minutes of fame had to wait. Like millions of Boomers who adjusted their sights on other, more worldly endeavors in the last 40 years, the editors here stopped dreaming of being rock stars and burrowed into family, kids and jobs.

Now, as "aging hipsters" we finally got our picture on the cover... of a local newspaper's senior section. There, nestled around advertising for everything from home care services to funeral homes, is an article about our founding editors.

It's not exactly Rolling Stone Magazine, but it is an accurate (if not obscure) portrayal of two 50-somethings who happen to run a blog and a web development business.

So THAT'S what you two look like...

Sort of reminds me of when I was a kid -- and on American Bandstand I'd see the singer/group of my favorite top-twenty hit for the first time -- and was horrified.

......Just kidding.

Congrats on the cover & story. Unfortunately, the only dream left for you two (and Yours Truly) is to be on the cover of AARP magazine.

Why do folks rag on folks over 45 so terribly? It is bad enough when our KIDS were doing it! Let's boycott folks under 40 and turn the world back to the BABY BOOMERS.
I do not want to look like a Brittany Spears WANNABE!
Where are the funky styles that defined our college years? Lets take back our world.
Where are the demonstrations to correct the world and make it a better place. I do not see it going that way. HELP protect our world enviroment. Do not let CHINA pollute the world because the big business of US wanted more profits. Help the world.
