About The Baby Boomer Generation

The Baby Boomer Generation first appeared in January of 1996. Originally titled the Baby Boomer Homepage, it was conceived simply as a portal for Boomer chat. It was evident at the start that while chat spawned the site, it wasn't enough alone to support the content we wanted to present.

A trip to Cleveland and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame was our first original article and gave rise to much more content pertinent to the generation. But the biggest single obstacle was managing the content.

In 2003, we successfully transferred all the articles over to a blog format and content management was no longer an issue. Now, several writers could be given access and an editor could manage content coming in from all over the world.

In 1999, the name "Aging Hipsters" was first used to describe the site in a magazine article for "The Web." We found out later it was a line from the movie "Austin Powers."

The Baby Boomer Generation has been cited in several national publications and was an LA Times "Daily Pick." The site consistently enjoys a number one ranking on Google, Yahoo and MSN. Design and engineering is by PERFECT i-site.
