But I Don't Feel Good!--Boomers' Health
I thought it was just me. But John Tierney, who writes for the New York Times, Science Times, describes research showing that Boomers report more problems with their health than older generations did when they were in their fifties. Are we less healthy or just whinier? Tierney's article has some nicely acidic comments too.

A little off topic...Mentioned your site in my musings on 'Serge the Concierge' on marketing to boomers online after attending the "Future of Online Advertising' conference in New York.

At 61, I've never felt better in my life. Why? Because I take good c/o myself. I do all those horrible things like getting plenty of exercise, not smoking, not drinking, not eating junk food. It takes discipline to live a long & healthy life & I intend to. I beat diabetes by exercising & changing my diet. I also beat bipolar disorder, for some unknown reason, I just outlived it. People don't know that it's sometimes possible to outgrow bipolar depression or manic depression, which is its more descriptive name. I have so much to be thankful about & I thank God every day of my life I'm alive & can use my body to do gardening, dancing, write Amazon reviews and 25 minutes on the elliptical machine. I intend to stick around for as long as I can. I love life. Every day is a new surprise and a chance to write a new poem.

Well, I am not so worried about their health as I am about the millions who are without health insurance, and the availability of housing. The Boomers haven't even hit and the housing is gone, by that i mean that there is a two year wait now for tax credit housing, their is no section 8 left, and the voucher systems is in stall for four years. if you are going to live on social security forget itthese tax credit building range in the area of 650 plus electricity and of course everything is electric.
I checked with several national research groups, and the fact is housing doesn't exist.
The services have dried up and many prople are discussing the problem but can do nothing about it. Further, the corporations are firing the 50 years old, who then cannot get a job, regardless of experience. Circuit City fired 3500 employees because they were being paid too much, by firing them the also lost their benefits. As a group their is no real continuity to make a difference, I am surrounded with unemployeed Phd's, managers of factories all over the world
scrambling to find something to make some money and hold onto whatever they have. For those who have not saved for this event, like myself it is a time to get all of us on a page and perhaps interact and come up with some ideas.
