I am trying to find out how many boomers are still alive in each year of the boomer years. For instance, population 1946? population 1947?, and so on thru 1964, with a total of the 76M + that you mentioned. Can you separate men from women in each category. Or should I contact the census bureau?? Please let me know.

Actually I thought 1964 was kind of late also, not that I care if you include 64 or not, but I thought boomers stopped at about 1955. I just felt like you should have been a teenager or at least in your early 20s, college age, during the 60s to be a boomer. Whatever.

There is a lot of dispute about where "Baby Boomer" starts and ends.
Those who are born after 1960 are NOT Baby Boomers. If you don't remember Woodstock and My Lai... you're NOT a Baby Boomer.
The usual parameters,1946 - 1961, is a statistical bracket that has little to do with social and pyschological reality.
Being born in 1961, I was 6 years old during the Summer of Love. As if I could have bought a copy of Sergeant Peppers or Surrealistic Pillow!
The Vietnam war ended in 1975. I learned about it in Junior High. Who the hell was Ho Chi Minh? What anti-war march was I ever in?
The Oil Crisis began in 1974, with the global economic downturn of the mid 70s to early 80s dovetailing nicely with me leaving high school. Just in time for me to not have a job waiting for me... that I could disregard while living easy of Dad's wealth.
Those old enough for sex and drug experimentation in the 60s and early 70s got... lots of sex and experimentation with drugs.
My group got lectures about sexually transmitted diseases, the hazards of abortion, the ravages of drugs and the social costs of a selfish indulgent generation.
I am not a selfish Peter Pan Generation Baby Boomer.
I'm not necessarily a cynical, disillusioned Generation X-er either.

You're right, Storm. You are not a boomer. You were 1 or 2 when Kennedy got shot, you didn't do 'nam or protests. Using a bump in baby births and calling it a generation is asinine.
Hell, my Dad is a boomer (1944) and technically so am I? (1963) WTF. Does that make any sense?
